Litespeed Web Server
As you may know I have officially joined the ranks of Slicehost as a support/article/helper type bloke (with a dreamy accent to boot!).
So what does that mean for usefuljaja.com?
The Litespeed Web Server is recommened for many reasons but the two main reasons (which should be at the top of any server admin's list) is quite simply configurability and speed.
For those coming from apache, nginx, etc backgrounds you may be surprised to learn that there is no need to mess around with mongrels or load balancers to serve your Ruby on Rails Apps. Use the native LSAPI to server your app faster than mongrels.
Completely autonomous virtual hosts means that you can tweak each vhost setting, whether basics such as maximum connections to advanced PHP configuration, without affecting neighbouring domains.
