Upgrading to Feisty
OK, so you've read Why you shouldn't upgrade to Ubuntu Feisty and decided you still want to use Ubuntu Feisty.
No problem, let's go ahead and upgrade from Ubuntu LTS to Ubuntu Feisty.
Why you shouldn't upgrade to Ubuntu Feisty
There seems to be a rush to upgrade to Ubuntu's latest release Feisty Fawn. One of the main reasons people give for upgrading is "it's much newer" (supposedly this makes it better?).
I know it's been out for a couple of months but let's take a little look at what you gain and what you lose.
Litespeed - installation
If you've been following our Ubuntu setup tutorials, you now have an up-to-date install with an optimised mysql and Ruby on Rails stack with subversion support.
Now we're going to install the Litespeed Webserver so our lovely Rails apps are served up quickly and easily (no messing with mongrels or external load balancers).

Once you have your VPS and the DNS is setup (see the Slicehost dns setup article) we can concentrate on setting up the Operating System.
In this Ubuntu setup guide, we already have a basic Ubuntu image installed by the nice folks at Slicehost or the lovely folks at your VPS provider.
Let's get on, update and secure it.
